The outer skin is peeled off and the fleshy inside is cut into the desired shape. A light sprinkling of salt is optional.
Vegetable oil or oil of your choice is heated in a fryer or pan. The sliced plantain can be deep fried or fried shallow and turned till fully brown.
Remove from the oil and drain off any excess oil either by placing it in a colander or in a plate with kitchen roll.
Allow to cool before eating.
